Welsh Wound Innovation

WWIC is a not for profit company. Up until November 2016 it was wholly owned by Cardiff University. Since that time membership has been expanded to formally include Swansea University, and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

WWIC receives funding from the Welsh Government, and a number of commercial concerns operating in the fields of wound prevention and treatment.

It is the first national wound healing centre world-wide and is the flagship facility for clinical innovation in Wales.

WWIC has a vital role in Wales’ economic development, helping to accelerate growth by stimulating and supporting business-led innovation in wound care.

The WWIC vision is to transform the management and delivery of better wound health care (prevention and treatment) via a coordinated, facilitated network approach that meets the needs of our stakeholders and customers.
